Hello and thanks for checking out my website!

I’ve been a professional writer for over 20 years. My nonfiction writing has been published in Huffington Post, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, Reader’s Digest, MORE magazine, and Best Health magazine.

I specialize in nonprofit communications, but I also shoot and edit videos, write research reports, and deliver workshops.

I’m also a published poet. Recently I’ve been combining poetry with photography, collage, watercolour, and mixed media. Last year, some of my photos were publicly exhibited for the first time.

In 2011, I joined the Canadian Women’s Foundation and have worked for them ever since. Currently, I’m Director of Communication for the Gender Equality Network Canada, a national network convened and facilitated by the Foundation. Before this, I was their Senior Director of Public Engagement, where I oversaw all of their marketing, communications, public relations, and social media. And before that I was their Senior Writer and founder/editor of their biannual magazine, SHE.

Before joining the Foundation, I spent twelve years working as a freelance writer and consultant with nonprofit and public sector organizations. I’m also former Director of Policy and Research at United Way Toronto. And waayyy back in my younger years, I worked as an auto mechanic for three years. Yep it’s true.

I have a Master of Environmental Studies from York University and am also a graduate of the Assaulted Women's and Children's Counsellor/Advocate program at George Brown College and the Community Planning program at Sheridan College. In 2018, I was nominated by Sheridan for the Colleges Ontario Premier’s Award in the Community Services category.

Diane is a fabulous writer.
